I'M UP IN YO GRADES, MAKIN' THEM DROP

So it's recently occurred to me that by not doing the blog my grade in this class is gonna crash soon. So let's change that! BLOG TIME.

I'm really excited about this branding project. I've already told a lot of my friends about the t-shirts and a lot of them seem interested in buying one. I like that we're able to create art in more ways than just digital presentations. I also like that we get to learn about Adobe Illustrator in here.

In other news, the musical is this weekend, and once again I get to take pictures for the cast board. They're coming along pretty well so far, and I'll be done by the end of the week. I know it's arguably "lame," but I'd really like it if you came to see the musical. I have a pretty big role, and I actually think this show is going to be pretty entertaining, if you can get past how annoyingly cynical and lazy all of you are. :)

Well, I skipped my update me in an act of silent protest (protesting what, beats me), so I'm gonna do this now. I really really enjoy the visual communication project. I'm very happy with the work I've done so far and I can't wait to present my project to the class. I've chosen a very simple story - just a love triangle, really - and made it more intense and more of an intellectual drama rather than a stupid sappy romance. There's a lot of melodrama involved in the story, but that's intentional. There's also a lot of symbolism, especially surrounding Alexis's character Audrey. Symbols include her head scarf and her red coat.

Projection, etc.

In my latest project I've found myself becoming involved with the idea of digital projection and how I can use it in my photography. I've always loved compositing images, but there's something unique and special about actually projecting an image onto a subject, and then editing it from there. It requires me to do more work with my camera and depend less on Photoshop to give me the effects I want.

Hopefully, now that I know what the problems are with this method, I'll be able to use it for other projects as well. I think it's a very dramatic process that creates unique images.
