Sabbatical

Lately, it has become extremely difficult for me to focus on photography. I find my many different interests are pulling me away from my interest in the visual arts. I don't feel like this is necessarily a bad thing. My music composition skills are growing and I'm starting to actually consider that as a career for me. I'm also having to focus on the musical a lot and it's taking up a lot of my time. So, I'm taking a break from photography other than what I have to do in class. I think this will be good for me, so that I can focus on other things for the next couple of months, then return to photography in the spring with a fresh perspective and the ability to move forward.

This sabbatical should not have too great of an impact on my projects. For the vorticism project, I already have a strong concept going in my head, which I am very excited to execute, if I can find the time and the materials.

About Me

Plainfield, IL, United States
I am an amateur portrait/fashion photographer who works in more of a colorful, surreal, somewhat 1970s style. My goal is to take beautiful pictures of people in a way that is different than any other portrait artist or fashion photographer. I am still trying to find my style, but I think it is getting more defined every day. Right now, I am a junior in high school. In college, I hope to music composition. Though as an adult I may not be a practicing photographer, I know that it will always be a huge part of my life, and the things I am learning now will influence me for the rest of my life.
